[Commission] Ellios Truthweaver

Ellios is smooth, graceful, slightly camp and incredibly silver tongued. On the surface, he seems content with his work and life, moving from case to case cracking them open one after another. He typically dresses in semi-formal clothing, that seems sloppily arranged on the face of it, but is actually meticulously positioned – a loose tie perpetually hung around his neck provides a near-constant disguise spell, keeping his attire on track. Born to a human mother and an absent elven father, Ellios grew up in a single-mother household. She tried her best, but didn't really understand how to raise an elf, and ended up telling lies/stories here and there to try and make his upbringing easier - like that his father had died a hero, rather than ran out on her the moment he'd realised she was pregnant. It was only through happenstance he discovered the truth: a note he'd left her upon his departure, tucked away amongst his mother’s possessions when he was helping sort through things for a cart boot sale. He felt an utter fool, and resolved to never be duped so thoroughly again. In time, he forgave her, but she's long-dead now. Ellios spent his young adulthood honing his investigatory skills in the city watch – primarily specialising in missing persons cases. The work has become an almost obsession to him – an easy way to slip away from thinking about the state of his life, how he utterly fails to let anyone get close to him. Even Khaaren, his closest friend, only knows the cliff-notes of his troubles. When he’s not working, he is liberally enjoying libations – primarily a steady flow of apricot brandy from his hip flask that…never quite seems to run out. It is actually because of Khaaran that he no longer works in the city watch…but, really, he had been on the edge of being booted out anyway.
